Tucked along the NY-NJ border, on the lands of the New Jersey Botanical Gardens, is a fairy tale setting fit for royalty and little-kid-turned-bride-and-groom dreams: The Castle at Skylands Manor. Sure, I have a soft spot for Tudor revival, but that isn’t the only reason I adore the Castle: it’s rare to find gilded age mansions still retaining their impeccably sculpted grounds, and Skylands Manor exemplifies why those that built these stunning homes spent so much time and energy and resources into creating domestic masterpieces.
Angelica and Angelo felt right at home at The Castle at Skylands Manor, trading their city home for an enchanted setting. We kicked off the day with one of the most incredible invitation suites I’ve ever styled & photographed, and family and friends relaxing and eating plenty of Jollibee before Angelica buttoned into her dress, and Angelo slipped on his Meermin black captoes and off to the ceremony we went!
After a beautiful mass, we all headed into the gardens for bridal party and portraits. From the lawns to the reflecting pool, every inch of the grounds for Angelica & Angelo’s Castle at Skylands Manor wedding was stunning. Perhaps my favorite part of the day outside of the flower girls sprinting down the grounds to give Angelica a massive hug and the emotionally hilarious father-of-the-bride speech, were the donuts. Duck. Donuts. Sign me up!!
Before we wrapped the night, though, we made sure to head inside to the fireplaces and thrones (it wouldn’t be a castle wedding if there weren’t thrones, right?), and capture those regal photos in addition to the gorgeous natural light ones outside. But the portraits were just a fraction of what made this wedding so special. The unending theme of the day was the support and outpouring of love from their friends and family surrounding this couple, which was beyond heartwarming to witness.
