Emma & Josh • Wayne, Pennsylvania Private Estate Military Wedding

Do you ever meet someone and think ‘there’s no way they’re ACTUALLY this nice”… and then find out they really are? What about their whole family? And then their fiancé and their family, too? And then all their friends? Meet Emma & Josh: the impossibly sweet, bubbly couple who I feel beyond lucky to know and have been a part of their story.

Emma & Josh’s love story began at Villanova University where Emma was a student, while Josh was working towards becoming an Army Ranger. They immediately hit it off, and when planning a wedding, it was only fitting to come home to Wayne, PA, where Emma’s family was and where Villanova is home. They began looking for a venue and a place became a clear choice: their best friend’s barn, just minutes down the road from the church Emma grew up at.

Emma got ready at her parent’s home in Radnor, while Josh got ready down the road from Wayne Presbyterian, and the two met each other at the end of the aisle, tears already streaming from those in attendance. Faith is the foundation for Emma & Josh’s relationship, and the ceremony was an incredibly moving one, presided over by a family friend and exchanging vows that held weight and meaning deep to the couple.

The couple exited the church under a saber arch, a tradition unique to military weddings, with swords wielded by Josh’s friends and brother. We headed off to the barn and took portraits around the property while guests went inside and around the grounds for cocktail hour.

Following some very exciting introductions and some hilarious toasts by Emma’s sister and Josh’s brother, the coupled dined on Mission BBQ (dreams do come true!!) and did a saber cake cutting with Josh’s sword before dancing on perhaps the most packed floor I’ve ever seen under their sailcloth tent!
